About Dr Lin Humphrey

Lin Humphrey, Ph.D. is a veteran digital marketer with industry and agency experience in travel and transportation, financial services, rewards programs, consumer electronics, and technology. He is a marketing professor teaching graduate-level digital marketing with a focus on leveraging marketing technology to drive seamless customer journeys online and offline.

He previously worked for Carnival Cruise Line, American Express, Novartis, and a Forrester Top 10 digital agency.  His agency and B2B clients included USAA, Delta Skymiles, Carnival SeaMiles Mastercard, Samsung Mobile USA, Omni Hotels, and Norwegian Cruise Line.

Fostering Brand Community Through Social Media

This book focuses on building and maintaining brand community in the emerging, dynamic space of social media. A theoretical model encompassing brand characteristics, relational factors, and characteristics of the brand user community is used as a structure to explain the various aspects of online brand communities. Further, the authors discuss how online brand communities differ from and can be used to complement traditional, face-to-face brand communities.
